Remembering Summer

I heard the wind whistling past my ears. I heard people scream each time a new wave kissed their faces. I saw helicopter fly over us, we must have looked like ants from up there. I felt the wave push against me, it was stronger than me. I felt cold when the water touch my skin. I wondered how far I could swim? I wondered if I had enough energy to get back?

Today we used different language features to help us describe an event from our summer holidays. I have used my words to show rather than tell you what was happening. Can you work out where I was and what I was doing?

  1. Kia Ora Jeremiah,
My name is Missy and I am a year 7 student from Paihia School. My class is Te Ngahere and I really liked reading your writing about remembering summer, I think you added a lot of detail and how you described yourself very well. I bet that was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoyed your time.
    Keep up the hard work,
    Missy
